Affirmations

Dictionary.com defines affirmation as ‘a statement or proposition that is declared to be true’. The success principle of affirmation states that you should declare a desired outcome to be true. So if you are struggling financially, say, “I am financially secure”. By declaring it as if you have already achieved it conditions the way you think, stimulates your thoughts and starts the process of action.
I’m finding that all the things I am learning at first glance me appear to a mass of golden threads all tangled up. Define your vision… When you know and understand your vision/goals you can affirm things into existence… Thoughts become things… So many threads! However, the more I read the more I learn, and the more I learn the more I can take a step back, look from a distance and see that there is order and all is connected. What appears to be a tangle isn’t. It just needs to be patiently followed and one must unravel their own bad habits as they go along. The golden threads are success principles – the key to unlocking doors you may never even have seen prior to the start of your learning process. But it must be unravelled. You must change.
The thing with affirmation is that it’s very easy to repeat things you want over and over, haphazardly, with no real feeling. I am guilty of this. But I know this is quite simply not good enough. It is not a strong enough method to truly internalise my desire, so that it becomes part of me and begins to manifest itself. Choose what works for you. It could be every time you have a cup of tea. It could part of your morning and evening quiet time if you have one. Apply feeling, deep feeling. Do not question yourself. Do not laugh at yourself because it is easy to feel a bit of an idiot. But this is doubt and doubt is the main reason why affirmations fail. Remember, you must have faith (as per previous blog).
Negative & positive affirmations
The amazing thing is that negative affirmations come true too. “I can’t do it”. You won’t. “I feel like I’m getting a cold.” You will. Watch these patterns closely, watch people around you and like me, you’ll be amazed. And I also noticed that whilst it is difficult to learn how to affirm positive statements, it is possible to affirm negative statements without even knowing what you are doing. “Seemingly idle words and harmless statements, especially those which confirm negative feelings you have about yourself, can become negative affirmations established in your thoughts, and manifesting in your life”. (Herbert Harris) I have learned that to achieve my goals I must learn to control my thoughts. This is key… Listen to your thoughts closely just for one day and you’ll be amazed just how many negative thoughts you hold (that’s if you have not mastered this already!)Affirmations can be seen as the process of reprogramming your life! Daily affirmations, applied with feeling can start the process of change in order for you to become who you want to be. Here is one:
“Today is the most magnificent day of my life. Health, wealth, happiness, love, success, prosperity, and money come to me in great abundance”. (Herbert Harris)
